Home Of The 2009 K.L.A.A. Central Division Champions 2009 K.L.A.A. Kensington Conference Champions 2009 Division 1 Team State Qualifier
We are a high school varsity girls cross country team located in Canton, Michigan. Salem High School is part of a "park" concept. Currently, there are three high schools (Salem, Canton & Plymouth) located on the same campus. All students can attend classes in each of the three high schools, creating more opportunities for our students.
Our sport of cross country is distance running and not skiing like many think. Cross country is a sport where an athlete trains in a progressive program over several months and then competes in a distance of 5,000 meters (3.1 Miles) over a variety of grassy terrains.
Salem's mascot is the "Rock", which many people find amusing especially in the sport of cross country. We will guarantee that we are faster than a normal rock!
We are part of the twenty-four team association called the Kensington Lakes Activities Association (KLAASPORTS.ORG). Part of the twelve team Kensington Conference. Part of the six team Central Division. Our home course is Cass Benton Park in Northville, MI.
Our program has been founded on what we feel are the building blocks for success which are hard work, dedication, pride, honor, respect, friendship and competitiveness. We aim to use these building blocks to obtain our goals and maximize potential in every athlete that competes for this team.
Athletics are an extension of the academic school day in which many life lessons are learned. We at Salem High School have high expectations in the classroom as well as in extracurricular activities and hold everyone to these high standards.
Thanks for visiting, enjoy our website!
GO ROCKS !!!
